One year later
Published 22 May, 2025It's been more than a year now since my last post, so I guess I'm tracking well at keeping this as a yearly journal.
I suppose a lot has changed relatively to other years, so here's a list:
- Quit my software engineering role and went back to university to do a one-year geospatial data science masters. Check out Maps for some outputs
- Moved from Auckland to Christchurch
- Got engaged!
Keeping this site vaguely tech related, some tech updates:
- Acquired a refurb MBP with an M3 Pro chip so I can really become a tech bro
- New camera! Ricoh GR IIIx for portability
- Joined the 1440p x 27" monitor gang, and I will not go back
- "Launched" an app
Been enjoying:
- Morrowind Mondays - I don't really have much time for getting immersed in video games for hours so it's easier to watch playthroughs (and honestly kind of more rewarding, especially with all the extra lore and such that gets added by the YouTuber)
- Pourover coffee in the morning and visiting coffee roasters all over central Christchurch to try random beans
- Rach Smith's site - big fan of the design and her comment system which I may steal...
Some more immediate thoughts at time of writing
Will I blog more?
I've been taking more digital photos recently as using the Ricoh has just been so easy compared to lugging my film camera around. Still debating whether to upload them on here or just use a free Flickr account.
More thoughts to be written down re: my one-year degree and leaving work and trying something different.
Enjoying a lot of other things not listed in this post!
